A non hunter who wishes to become one?
I would like to start hunting preferably bow hunting. The only person I know in my family who hunts hunts with a gun. He also doesnt have enough free time to teach me. So I was wondering if any body could give me tips and how to get started. I am already aware of the hunters safety course but I am just unsure where to go from there with getting skilled with a bow. So any suggestions would be great.
A good place to go is to an archery pro shop. Make some friends there. They will give you pointers and hopefully you could even go with them sometimes. Try to find a family run archery shop. Those are usually the best places to just sit and talk to people. Also there are mentor programs out there designed to help people like you start to hunt. Do a google search on hunting mentors and see what comes up in your area.

All I can say is anchor yourself in a tree stand when bow hunting or any type of hunting. I was critical for awhile, they thought I would never walk again. Not worth it so be safe in a tree stand.
